2022 – Year In Review

As we look forward to the new experiences 2023 has to offer, we invite you to reflect with us on 2022. Here at the Exchange Museum, similar to many other businesses in Barbados, we slowly made a comeback from the setbacks of the COVID-19 outbreaks and lockdowns.

Throughout the year we received several visits from local schools, nurseries and camps and relished the opportunity to share our knowledge and love for history. Several other special guests including Grand Master Mason W. Ramsay McGhee, District Grand Master of Barbados, Andre Harding, and other members of the fraternity received a tour of our interactive galleries.

In February we hosted a valentine’s giveaway in collaboration with ‘Gift Expressions’ a local business specialising in making custom gift baskets. One of our lucky social media followers won a customized valentine themed basket and the opportunity to visit the Barbados Museum and Exchange Museum.

August was the first time we hosted our very own event, a culture fair. If you missed this, we will again be hosting it this year so stay tuned! Local treats, jewellery, handmade crafts, and music were present all day, along with guided tours and special addresses by Freemasons. The Barbados Police Service Band also made an appearance and serenaded the crowd with many infectious rhythms.

One of the more formal events held in the latter part of the year was a book launch and cocktail party for a local first-time author. The décor was elegantly displayed and showed the versatility of our Events space. Throughout the year we accommodated other events including summits, board meetings, lunches, training sessions, and much more. We can certainly say that 2022 has been good to us but and we look forward to an even better 2023. Did you make it to the Exchange Museum in 2022?
